Sujay Khona

Biography

Sujay Khona is a director and cinematographer from Chantilly, Virginia. He has just completed his sophomore year at George Mason University and has loved the opportunity to make films with an incredibly gifted group of storytellers. His interest in film began in elementary school, where he would create action videos with his younger sister. He also enjoyed creating stop-motion videos with Legos. In high school, he joined the theater program and worked on many shows as an actor and behind the scenes. He also began developing short films with his friends in the theater, entering films in local and national contests to some national successes. At Mason, Sujay has deepened his interest in cinematography and directing, working with other students to create short films, music videos, and documentaries. He currently works at the Film at Mason Equipment Cage, along with working freelance video production jobs. He also competes on the GMU Forensic Speech Team and reached the quarter-finals at the National Speech Tournament this year. He's excited to continue telling stories that expand narratives surrounding his identity, and empowering others to do the same.
