Adjunct Faculty, Film and Video StudiesSara Barger has traveled the world making short documentaries, producing content for the U.S. State Department, USAID, Discovery Channel, and various think tanks, non-profits, and government agencies. Her work has taken her to Iraq, Congo, India, China, Tibet, El Salvador, and Honduras. Sara was a 2019 Docs In Progress Fellow and also serves on the board of Women in Film and Video where she also organizes a monthly screening series. After graduating from Mason's Film and Video Studies program in 2011, Mannon started working as a part-time Sports ENG Camera Operator for NBA Wizards, NHL Capitals, WNBA Mystics and NCAA Georgetown Hoyas home games, as well as a contracted, full-time Assistant Editor at Discovery Channel with WilmaTV Inc. Full Professor, Film and Video StudiesProfessor Giovanna Chesler (they/them) directs documentary and narrative films that address sexuality, the body, and gender and racial justice. Their films have been exhibited at hundreds of film festivals worldwide and in museums and gallery spaces. They currently serve as a juror of several international artist granting programs, advise documentary filmmakers, and volunteer as a juror of film festivals. They are a 2021, 2020 and 2019 Media Arts Fellow awarded by the Washington DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.Adjunct Faculty, CVPA
Adjunct Faculty, Film and Video StudiesRob Farr is the executive producer for Arlington TV, Arlington County's government cable channel and website. He has authored or co-authored articles on silent film and early film comedy and is currently working on a joint biography of actor-director Sidney Drew and his wives Gladys Rankin Drew and Lucille McVey Drew. He directs and performs in old-time radio recreations for venues such as the Library of Congress. In 2003 he founded the Slapsticon, a four-day film festival celebrating silent and early sound comedies.
